Body Mesh Replacer (Please Help)

Folks,

My question is about the UNP body mesh but I think it is also applicable to other well known body mesh types.

Anyway, I tried to create a custom body mesh that will replace the default UNP body ONLY WHEN I wear a particular (custom) armor/cloth. What I am wondering is, whether I can construct the body replacer by deleting only part(s) of the UNP body and replacing the removed part with some equivalent body part (e.g., boobs) that is extracted from some third party mesh. Obviously, this would result in different number of vertices. But would this cause the bone weighting to malfunction? Should I keep the total number of vertices in the body replacer the same as the default body mesh in order for this replacer to work?

Any tips, suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated!

I think you may run into trouble as Skyrim uses a whole body mesh plus skeleton for the 'nude/undressed' versions, I don't think you can remove just parts of one body and tack them on to another as the bodies aren't broken up into parts by the game ... You CAN put pretty much any body mesh you like inside of an Armor just so long as the **_0 and **_1 versions use the same 'family' of bodies (i.e. UNP _0 and UNP_1 or CBBE Skinny_0 and CBBE Skinny_1 meshes)

The "body replacer" mods (UNP, CBBE etc.) only effect the 'visual' look of the nude skin, what the 'compatible' armor meshes for various 'bodies' do is maintain the dimensions of the nude version = Big Bottom Nude --> Big Bottom Armor, Big Breasts Nude --> Big Breasts Armor, so that your character doesn't have different physical dimensions when you equip various armors.

Thanks for the advice.

I think some clarification is due -- The custom body replacer is one seamless mesh just as the default UNP body (I painstakingly performed some manual mesh welding job). It's just that it has got different number of vertices and slightly different appearance on the breasts part. Another thing: as for my body replacer mesh, there will be NO difference between **_0 and **_1 versions as I will not be implementing body slider. The same exact body replacer mesh will be used in both cases. So, whether my base body is **_0 or **_1, the default body will be replaced by the same custom body replacer mesh when I put on my custom armor/cloth.

I actually had a chance to try this method in game and I seem to be running into a bone weighting related problem. This other posting I put on on the Mod Troubleshooting forum has some screenshots.
