Rossordity
So yesterday, I changed a setting IN-GAME, I changed the "texture size" to small from large, it told me to restart the game. When I did, the next time I started up the game, it started the launcher, I click play, the Fallout New Vegas window opens, and I get infinite blackness, then FalloutNV.exe is not responding. I know for a fact that it is not mods, i've tried playing without mods, i've reinstalled my game multiple times even deleting the file for the game. Nothing has worked and I have no way to access this setting from outside the game. I'm hoping somebody here could tell me some sort of fix. WastelandAssassin
try using https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40442/?not sure if this has the option you need , but it seems likely that it does
Rossordity
I'm afraid it didn't have the setting I needed. I don't know if anybody else has seen the "texture size" setting in game, but it's under display.
WastelandAssassin
I know it's there , I've seen it in Oblivion recentlyI'm just not sure how it's set in the Ini file , if it's there at all (really not sure what it actually changes) you say you've reinstalled the game several times . have you tried deleting the folder in My Games? removing the ini files and using the launcher to reset the game's settings? on a side note , which mods are you using? how have you set up your game? which mod manager are you using? Rossordity
Yes i've deleted the game ENTIRELY off my pc for each reinstall. I have a lot of mods, which were all working fine before I changed the setting. I'm using Nexus Mod Manager. I don't exactly know where to go so I can copy my mod list... WastelandAssassin
I'm sorry for the probably stupid question , but are you sure you've deleted all the game's files when uninstalling it?by that I mean both the game's folder (where you install the game) , and the folder under My Documents -> My Games , the one that contains the ini files and the save folderIt doesn't make any sense that you can't reset any setting if you remove the game completely before a fresh install.......maybe try restarting your PC after uninstalling the game , than after it restarts install the game , set it up via the launcher , and see if it starts up?I'm kinda grasping at straws here , but it just doesn't make sense that this one setting isn't getting reset properly...... I'll try checking online , see if I can find something more concrete......
Rossordity
You mean my save files? No I never thought to try deleting those. I thought deleting the main game would remove the saves too, but I guess they were located elsewhere. I suppose i'll try ANOTHER reinstall. I'm starting to lose my patience, but I do appreciate you trying to help.
WastelandAssassin
I'm not saying you should delete your saveswhat you should do is delete the ini files that are located at My Documents -> My Games -> Fallout New Vegasthis folder has your save folder , but what you need to delete are the ini files therethese hold the settings for the game , so removing these should reset the game's settings
Rossordity
So, I didn't reinstall my game. I deleted the entire FalloutNV folder in My Games. I still have my saves, and my game loaded. Thank you!
WastelandAssassin
no problemas I thought , it just required you to reset your ini files glad we were able to solve this :)
