AngeGardien
Is this an issue Bethesda is working to fix? I had to make a new character because my level 52's save file is becoming a monster  I think Bethesda have been taking by surprise, because in her list of patching thing in the last patch (1.5) they say the problem have been resolved for corrupted save, but it's seem it's not working, this problem seem following her since ten years, (same thing in the pass whit elder scroll, oblivion, and now skyrim), i am not sure if i have well listening but i think they are in discussion to try to find a way for this, like changing the programmation but i don't know more on this, i know too some compagny make big cash on her back in charging people to repair her corrupted file, but i don't give the link because it's like helping an escroc to steel money from people, they have more thing to say but the best thing it's to wait this famous i hope next update they will free people like it's passing in all the other version..., again and always the same story Ha ha ha, But they are not only in this boat, more other game have the same problem, i don't know if they use all the same style of programming, but i know it's already arrived in civ V, and other, but if we look all the thing they have in skyrim, it's sure it's not always easy to make the thing all working together in the same time, because they have exterior factor, (like mods, other programs from other programer they try to put her program in the game, ect...), anyway..., on day we will be free Ha Ha ha, (i hope only it's not in one years)
Scepth
Well I think most people just don't realize or encounter this problem yet. So there is not as much complaints, compared to grass and green water bugs from patch 1.5.. This is a far more serious issue and we should make Beth more aware of this >.<
stilllogicz
Agreed 100% Scepth. I've created a thread on the official Beth forums about this issue http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1363782-major-issue-save-file-bloat/ Please go there and voice your concerns, we must be heard! stilllogicz
My new toon is level 15 with a 5.1mb save file. As a test, I set my timescale to 40,000 and left it for 2-3 minutes and then saved. I did this after noticing my save file getting bigger and bigger. The file size increased to a whopping 9.4mb!! I'm convinced I have some mod that is just not working properly with this patch. Ugh, now the headache of figuring out which one it is.....
Scepth
Well I rolled my Skyrim back to 1.4.27 pre patch. I'm going to do some testing with big mods and mess around with the timescale as well. I want to see if this problem is strictly just from 1.5 patch and not 1.

stilllogicz
I think I'm on to what the culprit is. I believe (as of right now anyways) that it's the set timescale to x command that is responsible for screwing up my saves. I turned on all my mods on a fresh unmodded save I got off of the nexus and rested 32 days in Dragonreach. Save file went from 3,713 mb to 3,723 mb. I reloaded that save and set timescale to 100,000 and waited roughly a minute. I set it back to the default (20) and then saved the game. BAM, 6,073 mb save file. Thoughts? Thoughts? Here I did a test on timescales: On each of these saves I waited and let the time past 8 days. Keep in mind, I loaded the original save each time I test a new timescale. Original Save - 3,876 kbSave 1, Vanilla default timescale (20), - 3,756 kbSave 2, Timescale set to ( 8 ), - 3,747 kbSave 3, Timescale set to (40,000), saved while timescale was still running - 3,841 kbSave 4, Timescale set to (40,000), saved after changing back to vanilla default ( 20 ) - 3,835 kb I used no mods and de-bloatifiers. It might be different for me since I have my Skyrim on 1.4.27 patch. (I don't want to switch back to 1.5) Try doing the same test as I did and see if you get similar results. File sizes changed back and forth but no significant abnormal jump. Edited April 5, 2012 by Scepth
nolofinwe
I had the same problem which occurred sometime this morning or last night after I loaded a few new mods (also latest 1.5 patch). Save file went from about 9mb to over 289mb in the space of a couple in-game days. I uninstalled all the mods I activated between the 9mb and 289mb save file, reloaded the 289mb one, waited 24hrs, re-saved and it is now back down to 9mb (actually 200kb less then before which is good). I haven't had time to isolate which mod but de-activating these helped: Auto-unequip ArrowsVampire OverhaulFrostfall - Hypothermia Camping SurvivalRealistic Animal Loot Will try to isolate and find out what was causing it later.
