How do I mod Battlehorn castele

Simply load the DLCFightersStronghold.esp as well as the Oblivion.esm. That way, you'll be given access to all of its special stuff, but it will also be manditory for the person to have the DLC for the mod to work. Particularly if all of the changes you make take place inside the castle.

If I load the DLCFightersStronghold.esp as the active file then I am just changing the plug-in, and if I upload it people can download the mod without having the DLCFightersStronghold.esp in the first place, and that is not legal is it?

And if I don't load it as an active file the changes wont take place because only *.esm files can be changed.

I think you mean only .esp files can be changed (elder scrolls player file /vs/ elder scrolls master file). Either way, here's what you do. Load both the Oblivion.esm and the DLCFightersStronghold.esp like we agreed on, but do not set an active file. It will ask if you are sure; just click yes. This way, when you go to save the file it will not simply save over one or the other (you cannot save over the Oblivion.esm, and the DLC.esp has not been set as active), but you will save it as a new .esp which is dependent on both other files. And, you are done. Simple as that.

Well, I tried to load both Oblivion.esm and DLCFightersStronghold.esp.

When I tried to delete the stable thing outside of the castle and put a chapel in its place the chapel is in game, but so are the stable too.

Hmm.... I have a silly question: you don't have both the Battlehorn and your plugin running at the same time, do you?

Of course I have, If I just load the plugin with the chapel I just got a chapel flowing in mid-air, but no castle.

Well, here's the deal. Since you want to REMOVE stuff as well as ADD stuff, you will need to select the DLC.esp as the active file. Then, (so you don't get in huge trouble) if/when you decide to upload the file, only include the .esp and anything you made new yourself. This would be okay because the downloaders would still have to own Battlehorn Castle to have acces to the BSA file that comes with it. In short; just set the DLC.esp as active.

EDIT: :excl: PLEASE, PLEASE remember to back up your original .esp!!!!!
