penpen999
So I have started making a companion mod. And I'm having trouble making scripts and a quest and making AI packages. I've only made two scripts so far. Anyway I was hoping I could find someone who would check it out and pretty much finish the mod for me. I'm not trying to make anything to complex really. I've made another mod that adds ammo to some venders and knock off clones of vanilla weapons and unique weapons that are more powerful. I've put two of those weapons that I made from that mod into the inventory of the Companion. I'm making these for my own personal use and not necessarily for adding it to nexus. Whom so ever wants to help me with if they want me to add it to nexus I will, I have no problem that. Thank You
EPDGaffney
I can't say I'm that interested in finishing the entire mod but where are you having trouble?
penpen999
I'm unsure about my scripts and the ai packages need some work. The npc appears in the game but says nothing. If I can't find anyone that will help for free by the end of the week. I'll be looking for someone who I can pay to finish it. EPDGaffney
Why don't you want to finish it yourself with our help? You're probably almost there. The only reason I can think of not to is that you really never want to do a mod again. So, if he says nothing, first make sure that the quest is on. If the quest is on and he still says nothing, make sure that the dialogue is attached to the Greeting topic or marked as top-level. I would use the Obsidian Conversation Editor to work with dialogue, not the tab from the quest form. It's on the top toolbar and looks like a right-justified paragraph symbol. It will show you the dialogue as a tree, you can save with it open, it's faster to load, and it's less likely to crash the editor. What scripts aren't working? Are they not all dependent on the dialogue working first?
penpen999
I don't plan on making a mod like this for Fallout NV ever again. I used to make mods like this for oblivion but that was much easier. I have no idea which scripts are working and which are not. I haven't made or set up any kind of dialogue at all for this mod. I don't even think I've really even made a quest yet just a quest script. I wasn't expecting it to be this hard. If I new it was going to be this hard I would have not even bothered to start making it in the first place. Anyway I've got this far with it and I just wish someone would finish it. I think that someone who knows what they are doing could finish it in less than an hour.
EPDGaffney
Unfortunately, I don't feel right about taking your money but I don't feel like doing it free, either. I'd gladly help you understand how to do it on your own, though.
penpen999
Ok so when I started making this mod I was following this tutorial https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/900821-fnv-companion-tutorial/ And everything was going fine till step 3: I made all the packages but home. the only thing I didn't do for these packages is the conditions tab I can't figure that out. EPDGaffney
Fantastic. I hope these images will help sort you out.https://prnt.sc/i89gmxhttps://prnt.sc/i89cqk The way this was done in the vanilla game (and thus my images) was using quest variables, whereas the tutorial uses script variables. Follow the tutorial, as based on the preceding steps you should have these variables in your object script, not your quest script. Edit: Note that I mention the bug in Windows 10 in case that's your problem, but I'm taking a moment to clarify here that you won't see any conditions no matter what you do until you make them, nor will there be columns for them. So if you're using Windows 10, make a condition first, and then try the fixes mentioned. This bug affected Windows 8 as well, but is part of an update you can uninstall. It is built into Windows 10 however and can't be removed so easily. Edited January 31, 2018 by EPDGaffney
