[LE] Newbie looking for help to create disembodied voice

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I've dabbled in the creation kit at a few things, never really made anything. But getting to the point, I'm looking to create a disembodied voice that talks to the player and maybe 'follows' them about through the game. I'm just wondering the best way to do that?

I'm looking at mods like Sounds of Skyrim for reference, I know sound markers is potentially one way of going about it. Apart from that I can only really think of making an invisible NPC that follows the player. I've looked at the Daedra in the game as well such as Vaermina talking to the player such as the scene where the player has the decision to kill Erandur or take the staff, I'm a little confused about that.

I was wondering what the best and most efficient way of making this happen and implementing it into the game?

I've got some mock sound files. I was able to easily replace SOS's snoring audio file with my own. If I were to go about it with the sound markers I need to create conditions of when they talk to the player and that's alien to me.

Any help would be much appreciated. I've looked around on the internet for any references I could adapt with no real success. So again, anything you could throw my way would be wonderful.

Thanks for reading.

After a few long days at working on this I realised that Quests are the best way to do what I want. I also stumbled on this:

and

Which is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. What I'm trying to do is effectively making another scene like when Meridia talks to the player having picked up her beacon.

I've followed Mattie's tutorial but I'm getting stuck. I don't think I have the script applied properly or something? It's difficult to think of where I'm going wrong because there's so many variables.
