papakapp
I have been trying to figure out how to use nifskope for a week now, I have read everything I could find on the net, still no luck. All the tutorials, wikis and help files are just too general. For example, if I were reading a tutorial on how to run oblivion, and it were written the way the nifskope help files are written, if would say "launch oblivion from the start menu" What I need is something more like saying: "click the start button, the start button is located on the bottom left hand corner of your desktop. Then move your mouse pointer up a little bit to "All Programs" and wait a second, then a new menu will pop up. Move your mouse pointer over the words "Bethesta softworks" etc... tl:dr--> 1) In nifskope, is it possible to apply textures to a mesh that has no textures on it at all? If so, how. I don't see any way to do that because the only method I have found that works is to highlight an existing texture and then change it. 2) why don't my textures show up in game? I can change one in nifskope and if renders differently in the window, but when I open up oblivion, it's just alpha. Do I need to assign new paths in the construction set or something first? Even if I am just grabbing a texture that is already in my data files, and already used in the game for other things and working properly on those things? 3) When I import a single mesh, that has two textures on it, I only seem to be able to select the one mesh as a whole unit, I cannot select separate textures on one mesh, only separate textures from two separate meshes.
