SupaTroll195
I've been trying to fix this for awhile, but no solutions seem to work at all. I stopped playing Skyrim for about a month or two, and I recently decided to pick it up again. But for some reason, it simply refuses to go past the launcher. I hit "Play" and then...nothing. No error; It just shuts down. I've done clean re-installs; Deleting everything then downloading from steam again.I've even gotten rid of mods, but still no fix. The game worked perfectly for a long time. This only recently became a problem, and I seriously have no clue why.Any help or advice would be appreciated, as I'm starting to miss this game greatly.
SupaTroll195
Oh and I should also mention: I did Verify the game cache many times, even with my AntiVirus disabled ( btw, I use Microsoft Security Essentials, if that relates to anything). David Brasher
Deactivate every single one of your mods and try again. Your statement indicated that you had deactivated some mods but did not specifically state that you had deactivated all of them.
vairahill
Try this:1. Uninstall skyrim3. Go to your local disk then: program files\steam\steamapps\common\4. Delete the skyrim folder (reinstalling will replace it)5. Reinstall Skyrim from Steam6. Re-download any mods you had Make sure Skyrim downloads its latest patch before adding mods and skse and all that cus if it patches it while the mods are installed, it'll f*** the game up. The only problem I had after this was that every time I started the launcher, I'd hit play then it would ask "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer?" and I'd hit yes and it would load the launcher all over again. TESV.exe would load the launcher too. If this happens to you, right click TESV, go to properties, then the compatibility tab. Underneath where it says privileges, see if run in administrator is checked. If it is, uncheck it. If it's greyed out and you cant uncheck it, click on change settings for all users and uncheck it there. Hit apply, then okay, and then it should work.
