Help with a crash some half a minute after starting

Using mod organizer 2, wrye, and loot.
The game crashes whether I stay still or move around or whaterver, within a minute of appearing in the choose-your-start room with the mara statue
I tried to export my huge load order from MO but it looked like a gigantic mess when I pasted it here. My plugins.txt is empty.

well , if your load order is a gigantic mess , you've basically answered your own question (go fix the mess , and hopefully you can get it to work)

and if the crash happens every time you start a game , after a short while , regardless of whatever actions you take , this also means it's not bound to a specific action

however , with the minimal information you've provided , no one here can actually help you (the total information in your post is that you play Skyrim SE , you use MO2 as your mod manager , and you have Live Another Life)

please try to clean some of the mess , and if that doesn't help , upload your load order properly , so that we'll be able to try and help you solve this

The exported file is just really hard to read. It looks fine on screen, in wrye, on loot.

These are not listed in the right order. The plugins window and wrye and loot all have the same agreement, but this file? It's random, it seems, not agreeing with the load order suggested by the other three programs.

well , this is indeed a mess (can't properly read it , especially as the actual order is a huge part of this)

what troubles me is you say your plugins.txt is empty? how is this possible? it should at least have Skyrim.esm in it......

are all the files under that profile empty?

 

have you tried running the game with the most bare bones load order you can? (like only Live Another Life , and the most basic mods like character creation ones)

If so , does it work properly with these few mods installed? or does it also crash?

have you installed MO2 in your program files or a similar folder?

could these files be set as Read Only?

because if this is the case , this issue has existed with mod managers since for ever really

 

If this isn't the issue , something with your installation seems to be broken somehow (It doesn't make sense that this file is empty)

That information you posted is not your load order.

 

Your load order should be located in

 

C:\Users\<windows user name>\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE\profiles\<MO2 Profile Name>

 

and should be called loadorder.txt unless you changed this setting manually, which you wouldn't have done accidentally. It should read like:

Johnnyroger: Yeah, I checked it repeatedly. It's completely empty.

I don't use the program files folder if I can avoid it. Maybe mod organizer doesn't use the normal plugins.txt... I'm new to MO so it's possible I've missed something like that. Maybe something to do with how it doesn't even use the normal data folder. It doesn't look like there are any permissions abnormalities.
I tested the plugins.txt to see if it could be written, and it can be.

So if you manually change your load order in MO2, does the log window at the bottom output something like this?

18:24:41 C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE\profiles\profile\loadorder.txt saved

If it does, then it's storing this information in that location. Otherwise you get an error message.

There was an extra profiles folder... how did you know?

I fixed it and this is the load order, there's a lot I can take out if it's causing trouble, I was in the process of pruning for a new game start, and found this crash I posted about above.
