SirTwist
In order to check that F4SE is working in game, it's easy to do, is open the console, type this in, getf4seversion. I am not sure that is the right one, but it's a variation of that that should tell you whether or not F4SE is running in your game. It Doesn't deactivate in game, or your game will CTD. It is what you use to run the game instead of the vanilla game, or the launcher. I barely use the launcher, anymore, unless something changes and I really need to run it. In order to use F4SE, here's a crash course in using it. Of course before you begin, check your folder options and make sure you have hidden files and folders shown. If not, you will be missing some key items.1) download f4se from f4se.silverlock.org a) NEVER through a mod manager, it should be through your browser.2) unzip it someplace you will remember.3) Highlight the data folder in the folder containing F4SE, as well as the executable, the CustomControlMap.txt, the two .dll's, and right click and copy.4) Go to your Fallout 4 installation folder which should be under steamapps\common\Fallout 4.5) You should have Fallout 4's executable, as well as the launcher in there.6) Paste what you copied into there. You will need to confirm for Data, but it should all go in there.7) Run F4SE_loader.exe should get you to the main menu.8) That should be it, you can use F4SE now, and it should never deactivate, at all. If it does, it will either not work, which means Bethesda added garbage to their creation junk, or there is another problem, and you need to run the launcher, and set things right. But overall, it should always work, and never, ever, deactivate. One warning, if Steam/Bethesda does update things, then you will have to wait a bit for the Silverlock team to update F4SE, and then the mods. I suggest playing something else for the time being, then play Fallout 4 when things are back to normal.
