PineCone1
Hey all, I was wondering if there is any way or any tools out there to test script latency in Special Edition. I did a few searches and wasnt able to find anything. I understand that SKSEx64 is still in early(ish) development for SE and there are probably not many tools out yet but figured I would ask anyways. Game is running great except for a few instances of 5-10 FPS drops which I think are due to scripts (not sure if latency reduction would even help this but yea, open to any suggestions to make scripts run a bit smoother if possible) Thanks! cdcooley
You have the problem backwards. Scripts get a fixed amount of time per frame so a drop in FPS is the cause of script latency. The only way scripts could lower your FPS is if you alter your INI file to disable the limits that are normally placed on Papyrus. If you've followed some "optimization" guide that had you change settings in the Papyrus section of your INI file take those lines out. If you're getting bad script performance you need to make other changes to the game to get the FPS value as close to 60 as you can. Anything below about 20 will certainly affect script performance. PineCone1
Thanks for the info, I never fall below 50 or so FPS but the dips can cause a stutter sometimes, though it seems more to do with loading cells/LODs. I have managed to mitigate this for the most part. (But am still open to suggestions on this subject, the hits almost always happen when doing a 180 degree/sharp turn) The only issue I have now is that my arrows are now traveling at super speed *facepalm* I'm not sure if this is because I was messing with locking the framerate through Nvidia Inspector instead of in game, but even after turning the in game limiter and Vsync back on its carried over into a new game I started. The only thing Ive really been messing with is BethINI as far as INI file tweaks go. This is the only thing holding me back from a fresh play through and its driving me nuts lol. (Dont mean to change the subject just thought I'd mention here instead of opening new support thread) Update: Seems to have something to do with my bashed patch.. I didnt touch the arrow speed tweak, must be one of the mods being merged.. will have to go do the old process of eliminationUpdate 2: Fixed by messing around with bashed patch (For now?) lol Edited February 11, 2018 by PineCone1
