Nifskope obj help

Hello, I am have been trying for hours to no avail to combine the valve and foot leather straps from the Vanilla T-51b mesh onto this custom mesh which can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47947/?tab=description. I have imported the obj into the .nif and it shows up in thhe 3D view, however there is something clearly wrong with the formatting as the valve and leather straps do not show up in the GECK.

If someone who has more experience then me in NifSkope can do this for me or tell me step-by-step detailed instructions, that would be appreciated.

Should just have to open both meshes in nifskope...

Click on the valve in the render window of the vanilla armor so it's branch is highlighted (the valve should appear green with lines now) then right click copy branch...

Click scene root on the custom mesh and then paste branch...

Repeat for the straps, rename them if you want to what they where i the original mesh.

Save new edited mesh.

Make sure when move the new edited mesh back in the data folder you can see the new changes in nifskope. If not rename the new mesh from like example T-51b01.nif to T-51b02.nif and make the .esp read the new file not the original one as the bipedal model. Not sure why but sometimes I find trying to replace the old .nif (even if I delete it from the data folder before moving the new file over) it just causes it to revert to the old one. So I just use a different name to avoid that issue.
