ReviewistMan
I have been noticing something in Oblivion, NPCs dont see very far. I spawned a bunch of Marauders on the Imperial bridge, right near Weye. A guard walks by on a horse a little past Wawnet inn, and they dont fight. They are both looking in eachother's general direction. Can anyone make a mod where people have longer line of sight? I'm just sick of people seeing like 5 feet away, max. If a mod like this exists, link please.
Vagrant0
Reaction times depend on alot of different things. The standard view distance is roughly 96 feet away, which given the usual density of trees, rocks, and other stuff is more than good enough. The reason it might seem alot slower may have to do more with either too many NPCs being present within the scene (anything more than 4 or 5 in a cell tends to drop their IQ significantly), what mods you have loaded, and what hardware you have. Trust me, a mod which increases this distance won't help you in the slightest. If anything, it will usually result in combat being triggered endlessly, or an even slower response time. Well, I need more than 4 for video/ screenie purposes. But these people were in plain sight, and nothing happened. there were at least 6-8 dead people, and a regular band of marauders.. It was outside, by the way.
ReviewistMan
One more thing, I have really awesome hardware and I play Oblivion on Maximum GFX with all the sliders at maximum. It should be fine.

As for hardware, there will eventually be some point where the game itself isn't able to handle things very well. For the purposes of a video, you might instead want to learn how to script those NPCs to just start combat with the guard. Most video scenes like this are specially scripted to behave like that. Even Bethsoft was doing this back when Oblivion was in development. Afterall, you can't expect to be able to make good videos just by placing a bunch of spawns in one spot and hoping for the best. And again, there are many things which could be playing a significant part in this. Scripting is really the only way to solve it for your uses. I am saying videos and screenshots. I just find it odd. Is there any mods which prevent SOME conversation and looking at corpses? That might have caused it. People are normally distracted by corpses or other people, so once again, is there a mod that stops those distraction?

If it is as bad as you are mentioning, no amount of tweaks or changes, short of forcing NPCs into battle through scripting, will solve it.
