onceknownsober
The Clockwork of time: I know this is probably never going to be realised due to the fact that this is a major project and I don’t have the time or anything near the skill to create such a huge mod, but I would still like to share my idea for a mod with you guys (sorry for the bad English grammar). Concept:This is an idea for a mod in Skyrim I have been wondering a lot could be made possible.Basically it’s build around time travel as the name indicates and is based around the time of the dwelwers. The world’s build up:The entire world of Skyrim is different from what we know it, most of the human cities are gone or are just a group tents or smaller settlements placed roughly near where the original cities were placed. The dwelwer ruins in the vanilla skyrim is of cause not ruins anymore, but underground as well as aboveground cities filled with dwarf/elf looking humanoids (dwelwers). You play as such a humanoid as well (you give up your original form in order to time travel), but we will get to that part when we get to the storyline. The burned volcanic field in the vanilla, (near Eastmarch) is replaced by a volcano with a Dwelwer city on the top. This volcano is what the main storyline is based around. Storyline:You as the headmaster of the Wizard College get a letter from a professor, who had been hiding out at an excavation site for a long period of time and who just came back to the college. In his search for the elderscroll he had stumbled upon something even more amazing, the clockwork of time, a dwelwer device, which allows a person to travel back in time. You volunteer to be the test subject and sends yourself back to the time of the dwewlers, but while you’re send back, you lose your original form and are asked to form yourself once again, but this time in the appearance of a Dwewler. This is a total reset of your character, which means that you once again start in level 1. Now as a dwewler you lack for some reason strong magic abilities (which only a few of your species possess), but instead you have a lot items and gadgets infused with soulgems, which allows you to use stuff like a burning blade or a chainsaw blade in order to fend of dragons and such creatures. The volcano and the city at the peak of it is what the story circles around, the city is the capital of the dwewlers, which is placed there due to the dwewlers obsession with rare metals and minerals, which are mostly found near volcanic areas. You are helping out a group of mad dwelwers in building a machine, which allows every single being in Tamriel to have magic abilities. This machine requires a lot of power and in order to acquirer this, the mad dwelwers forces out the power of the earth deep within the volcano. In the end you succeed in making the machine, but the machine goes wild and blows up along with the volcano. Most of the dwewlers receive more magic power than their bodies can handle and dies as a result only a few survives (all with magical abillites) and they are the ancestors to the rest of Tamriel. Now as for side quests the story of the Falmers would make perfect sense, like the conflicts about keeping the elves as slaves, who later turned into falmers because the sometimes just were left within the mines. I know this is a giant project and it may never go anywhere, I just simply couldn't keep this idea to myself in hope of that some with more time and skill maybe were capable of realising this idea. - OnceKnownSober
