Playin' minigames in Fallout games (3/NV)

Hello people,

last time I went into a Vault, I saw these pool tables and thought it would be fun to play around. And as with other items/weapons, like the Electro shocker (whatever name), there are (mostly) mods that enable or enhance the usability (for example: the mod "Stun and Tie NPCs"). I also thought that there were Darts somewhere. ..

But sadly there were no results. I mean why are there no more 'Immersive' mods that contain these minigames? Doesn't have to be perfect. I mean, even in other games, you can interact more with the world. Don't know about F4, though. Will know more if I ever play it again..

I thought I post this in here, so someone can take it as inspiration. (And because I play New Vegas at the moment)

A pool table and darts are probably do-able as a game....if we are talking in the game world at large (ie not a special menumode minigame). I'm not saying a mini game is impossible or anything, just well above my pay grade. But if one is willing to tweak the collision for a pool table (put in some pockets, and maybe channels to dump them at the pool return) and tweak physics for the balls I don't see why you couldn't have a somewhat working pool table. Just need a animation for "tapping" them with a cue.

Darts would probably be easier, *if* the dart gun ammo is available in the FONV BSAs. I can move them around to line up with the hand. We have some options re: pinning and reusing that may make them realistically stick to the board and allow them to be gathered for another game.

There may be some form of an electronic dart board that could be scripted. One function called getOwnerLastTarget might be usable. I'v never implemented it, but if it can return the id of a non actor you can have separate meshes of 9, 12, 20 whatever and a var to keep count. Then maybe a display that's fed by the variable. The scripting may be above my head, but plenty of modders can do it.

If you interested in the darts game, as described above, let me know and I'll see what's possible.
