blitzen
Skyrim doesn't use 4gb? I thought that Bethesda had fixed it back in feb.? The 4 GB patch should no longer be necessary. The game itself was updated to support a large address space.
etang2
It doesn't in theory, but I think when i used to try, it would get to around 1.9 gb ram and than fatal error, the patch AND the user patch before that stopped the fatal error, not allowed access to +4gb and as i said, it was patched by Beth,
Raffaelasdf
i've never saw my Skyrim use more than 2gb - when it crashes back to Desktop or when it freezes the Task Manager says around 1,8-1,9 gb RAM. When my Game crashes i have 30-40% CPU and 70-80% (from 6gb) RAM used - so there is a lot of power left. Thats why i was asking. It seems that the Beth. Patch doesnt work at 100%? Which Mod is the best for the 4gb? I still had http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3211 - but it says "nothing patched"
etang2
You shouldnt need one(a 4g patch now) and it crashes because not of system resources, but ussually an alien factor (mods) interfering with Skyrim runtime and causing an error called APPCRASH or APPHANGB1. Philosophos
OK, so I tried disabling the mods, but it doesn't help. It's still crashing. It's quite frustrating that one of the key features of Skyrim is to be its ability to use mods but when you actually do, the game tends to gets unstable and broken. I know for sure that in my case it can't be system resources since I have more than enough system ram and video ram.
