NMM file structure

Hi Folks, I'm just about to upload a mod I've been working on for several months (since the CK came out), but I'm not sure of the folder structure for mod managers.

I always do a manual install, but I know a lot of people are not sure about how to install a mod manually. What I want to do is have both a manual install option and a NMM install option. Problem is, I don't know how the folders are structured in a NMM compressed file.

Are they both exactly the same. ie. a Data folder with all sub folders inside ?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by both exactly the same. For NMM to extract files correctly, create your zip/rar directly from your data folder, so the first thing you would see when you open it is "data".

With manual install, there is no set structure convention - as long as the downloader knows where to put things.

Hope that helps,

That's fine, thanks.

What you're saying is, basically, you keep the same folder\file structure as it is in the game, only you don't have the Skyrim folder as the parent folder. You use the Data folder as the parent folder.

Brilliant. You're right what you said in that post. No info on making the actual compressed file, but loads of info on what to do with the compressed files and the mod manager...typical.
