KurkKurk
I'm trying to create an NPC. looks, items, combat, spells everything checks out. i even managed to get some custom voice to the darn thing. but that's where the issue lays. I have ran into a problem where i cannot press E on them. I do not get prompted with my dialogue options without the use of AFT Mod. i set the CurrentFaction to -1, there's Potentialfollower set at 0 too. relationships are set as player-ally. But i still cannot press E normally to trigger the dialogue. It has worked maybe once. Afterwards I putzed with the QuestDialogue and somehow it doesn't work anymore. I've been smacking my head over this for about a week now. I had it working on one follower, but they didn't have a custom voice. anyone out there? NexBeth
I've never done custom voiced followers, but, it may be that you didn't include your custom voice in to one of the follower voice formlists and then assign that voice to your follower. If you don't have that voice on the list, then it's not going to be identified as a follower voice. Also -1 should be set to CurrentFollowerFaction. Levionte
First thing is to save the game with the follower installed and immediate reload the save you just made, and see if they talk then. If that works, you need to create a SEQ file in Tes5Edit. If that's not it, the next easiest fix would be to make sure the quest with their dialogue started - either immediately or through whatever means you've setup. Otherwise, it's all about dialogue conditions. The conditions you set need to be fulfilled in order for the dialogue to show up. If you created a new voice type, the actor needs to have it. If they need to be in a faction or not in a faction, make sure they are/aren't. Etc. When I get a line that's not showing up, I just delete the conditions until it shows up, then add them back to isolate the problem.
KurkKurk
alright, some pretty handy advice here. but that doesn't solve the problem when you cant talk to the follower even without the custom voice. :/ :EDIT:Alright, i figured out what's wrong. in the Quest editing screen where you can open the Topic panel to see the dialogue lines, there's a column with 'Is Voice Type' i'm almost certain my custom Voice Type should be in that column, because currently there's nothing in there. Ive gone back and forth trying to get my '0_CustomVoice' to appear in that column. So far, i cant figure it out. Tasheni
That happens to me and I can't say, why. In the dialogue window there's a pull down menu on the right top where you can set the speaker. Do it. Save, close the window and open again. You will see your voice type now in that column of the topic panel.
