Import from NMM doesn't import archives

Hi,

I have Fallout 4 installed with a bunch of mods managed by NMM (0.63.17). I installed the Vortex alpha (I can't find the version in the UI) and used the Import from NMM option.

The import ran for a while and then said that it completed with errors. The import log (which I've attached) shows a few errors about files it couldn't find for the "Mod Configuration Menu" mod but other than that it seemed to work. I had all my mods in the list, I was able to enable them and resolve conflicts and when I started up the game it seemed to work fine.

However, there were a few wrinkles:

  1. Most of the mods didn't have a category set. I had installed nearly all of these mods by downloading from NexusMods through NMM, and they had categories set in NMM.
  2. The mod names appeared to just be the archive name minus the extension, not the actual mod name as it appears in on the NexusMods site.
  3. When I tried to reinstall a mod to change its options, the Reinstall action was greyed out. It appears that the import didn't bring in any of the archives saved in the NMM "Mods" folder.

I tried dragging a mod archive from the NMM Mods folder into Vortex and I was able to install it and choose options during the installation, but it didn't have any category or version information. I tried opening up the metadata window and setting the Nexus ID, but that didn't seem to make it fetch that information. When I tried set the version, it wouldn't accept it because it wasn't semver.

I also tried copying the mod archive from the NMM Mods folder into the Vortex downloads folder, but Vortex doesn't seem to connect that archive with the already installed mod. It shows up as a separate mod and when I install it, it prompts to replace the existing mod, but afterwards doesn't have any of the mod metadata (version, etc.).

I don't want to have to re-download 50GB of mods or manually type in metadata for all the mods. All that information is in NMM and the import should be able to bring it in.

Am I just Doing It Wrong?

i also have this problem, but even if i download the mod with vortex some of the info is missing regardless, it's mostly the mod name, also i fine it weird that you can't import archives from NMM and the mod info too.

i'm currently re-downloading everything witch i'm somewhat annoyed with cause of that face that it's not fetching the mod names.

i did sent feedback using the thing in vortex so maybe someone will see it.

though i fined it weird it works fine for some people.
