morganwj
Hi I am hoping that someone who helps with troubleshooting can assist me. I decided to do a clean install. So I started the process by deleting the NMM, then I uninstalled the game in steam.I then installed F4 from Steam. Started the game to get the ini files. Saved a new game file, then download F4Se and I determined I was currently running run-time 1.10.64 so I download F4SE Build 0.6.5. I followed the standard instructions i.e. copied all the files (not in the Data subfolder) into the correct game directory. Then I created a 7zip file off the contents in the Data subfolder. This is when my problem starts; after I create the zip folder I am unable to add it to the NMM program. I have tried dragging it into the open Manager and I have tried using the add mod function. Neither adds the script into the Mods. Any suggestion on what we are doing wrong adding F4SE to NMM? Thank you in advance for your help!
Moksha8088
I think NMM has the capability of detecting F4SE from the main F4 folder and that a zipped file of the F4SE download was never meant to be added to the data folder or NMM.
SirTwist
You install, if you will, F4SE to where you installed Fallout 4. Should be (stuff here)\steamapps\common\Fallout4. It should never, ever, ever, ever... go into the Data folder. There is a Data folder that comes with it, but only that should be copied in the installation folder of Fallout 4, and contents copied right into your Data folder. morganwj
I must not have made my self clear. I had made a zip file of the data file from the F4SE file I got from silverlock, and no matter what I did I couldn't install it. I finally used the installer command from the silverlock site but I don't know what that will do with the NMM. I greatly appreciate your help!!!! Thanks! SirTwist
You made a zip file of your data folder from the F4SE team? Why? That should never be done, unless you are backing things up. However, NMM should have the executable available from the drop down on the left hand side, under Launch Fallout 4, the launcher, and the custom. HackerSauce
morgonwj is right. ..gophers video tells you to do that ...I tryed and nmm refused to lpad it ...so you tell me why gopher would suggest thatI've directly followed Gopher's instructions before and had no issues in the past, but, I, too, am having this exact same issue with NMM, despite it having worked in the past. Jambo11
I think NMM has the capability of detecting F4SE from the main F4 folder and that a zipped file of the F4SE download was never meant to be added to the data folder or NMM.NMM doesn't install mods to the Data folder; it installs mods to the Fallout 4 folder. ESPs and ESMs go into the Data folder because the modder places them in its own folder, named "Data," which merges with the pre-existing Data folder in the Fallout 4 folder. I followed Gopher's instructions, and all of the F4SE files ended up right where they needed to be.
