axxesload
Heyy,so i am on holidays with a shitty centrino 2 laptop with GMA INTEGRATED GRAPHICS.(The gpu is a bottleneck as my cpu is a p8700)aand i wanted to play some fallout NV.I used most of the mods and tweaks on the site and the ones from lowspec gamer but im still getting around 20fps on 640x400 and textures being just a single color. What can i do to help me get at least 30fps?im so frustrated. Thank you for your response..Axxy

dubiousintent
I don't think there is anything you can do. Looking up the specs on the Centrino 2 it says it comes with 2GB of system memory, and the GMA integrated video uses system memory instead of dedicated VRAM. In addition the CPU speed is in the 2.5GHz range, which while adequate is not doing you any favors. The game is a three-legged dog when only the default 2GB for a 32-bit game is allocated to it by the OS, but you're not even going to get that as the OS is going to take about 1GB of that even before you account for the video memory the GMA requires. While that box "technically" meets the minimum requirements, it's only "technically" doing so if you consider the GMA graphics to be the equivalent of the minimum NVIDIA GeForce 6 series or ATI x1300 series video card. If you somehow have more than 2GB of system memory, see the "2-4GB game memory limits and solutions" article. You might gain a few more MB by using an older OS such as Vista or Win7. (Every version of Windows has required more and more system ram.) Don't try to use any "hi-res" images. Stick with the vanilla size of 512x512. But frankly if you are only getting single color graphics, forget about graphics/mesh/texture packages completely. Be sure to run in "off-line mode", without the Steam overlay, and turn off every background program you can, such as Anti-Virus. Look over the 'Solutions to Performance problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide, but I doubt it's going to help much. -Dubious-
