Timberwolf1
So, this is something that I've had in mind for a while, something that I felt the vanilla game could really use. Say you sided with the Imperial Legion. After the Defense of Whiterun, and depending on what quests you have and have not completed, Fralia Gray-Man chews you out for the decision. If you freed her son already via breaking him out of the Thalmor's grasp, then her dialogue is laced with feelings of betrayal and anger, asking you if it was all some sick joke, helping Thorald escape just to render the whole thing pointless, with perhaps a slap across the face for good measure. If you get General Tullius to pardon him, she still confronts you, though less angry and perhaps with a begrudging thank you for getting him out before things got too serious. Side with the Stormcloaks, however, and she basically sings your phrases, even giving the player her blessing to marry Olfina or some such, or having Eorland craft a special weapon as a gift, perhaps both if you did it by yourself. Heck, Eorland could actually express disappointment with you, perhaps even anger and betrayal, though to a significantly lesser extent that Fralia, if you free Thorald and side with the Empire. The Dragonborn/ player character, of course, can have a small variety of options to respond with, ranging from just taking the heat, knowing that this would be a consequence of what happened, to snarking at her, to trying to explain your actions. It doesn't even have to be voice acted! This is just something I've thought would be very rich to see in game.
simtam
I've been thinking of something in that area - Missing in Action leading to Whiterun joining Stormcloaks - but it has to be voiced. Spliced, or reused voice lines. If you want to make your hands dirty with creating these spliced lines, let me know what you have.
