georgeversion1 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Okay so I've gotten a new PC after my old one had crashed and decided to try and get my old mods back for DA:O. The mod I'm having trouble with is the Qunari Update mod. I found a website that offers it, but it is downloading as a .zip file. I change the file extension to .dazip use the DAupdater to try and install it and experience an error. The mod is found here. Is it just a bad download or am I doing something wrong?
theskymoves Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 The installation instructions on the page are wrong... they probably just got copied over from BSN, since they are identical to what was there back in the day. The archive isn't an incorrectly named DAzip, it's just a ZIP archive; renaming doesn't work, because it's not formatted to be installed with DAupdater. Just decompress the archive and put the enclosed folder into you manual override.
georgeversion1 Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 What would be the best way to do that?
balmz Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 one thing you can do is rename the zip file extenstion to be dazip instead of zip, then use daupdater

DAzip archives must have a specific folder structure and require a manifest.xml for installation via DAupdater (or the like). The archive in question has neither. tl; dr, the instructions on the download page are incorrect for the current version of the mod. The version available for download is a manual override and should be installed as any other override mod would be. Edited February 20, 2018 by theskymoves
