taitn
Alright the reason I decided this would be a good idea is because I will be over-riding the opening scene to do my own "cinematic" that will explain why and where you are and how you are chosen to participate in the games. The other reason is that I want to make it possible for players to choose which district they belong to, with a creation screen it is easy to just give you the option to pick one. I am guessing you are against this because you have seen the long skyrim opening scene many times, but this is entirely new and will be much shorter, and once the cinematic part is over you will be placed in your district ready to go. The new opening scene will essentially be the reaping and I am quite tied to this idea, although I may do it differently if enough people say that this is something that they do not want I was going to say that "As long as you have a valid reason for doing it like this, then it's fine." but now that i think about it, there doesn't seem to be a better way to do it  good job :D

taitn
If there's going to be 12 districts, and 2 people from each, essentially there is 24 npcs that will be needed (M+F from all and have the player replace one). From my understanding of Skyrim's AI, if they are all hostile to each other, and you start them in the same area and they see each other, well, you could just stand to the side and watch 23 morons beat each other to death with sticks. Firstly I will be placing everybody in different spots in the start, then I will make it so that some npcs are not hostile to eachother, which will atleast increase the chance that you are left to fight more of them. There will also be a greater focus on things outside of npcs, like traps, other monsters, etc. There are probably several other things I can do to make sure they dont just all kill eachother, I see a ton of testing in the future though.
