Version 0.13.3 (custom install location) mods overwritten on install - expected behavior?

When installing 0.13.3 (custom install location) over 0.13.1 (same location), plugins were retained but all mods disappeared.

 

Is this expected behavior or is there an alternate setup method available to keep mods intact on install?

First time I launched 13.3 it falied to log me in and told me that my internet connection was bad. Could that relate to what you saw?

 

Fixed it by shutting it down and restarting.

 

BTW it lied - there's nothing wrong with my connection. Else how am I posting this? :D

In this instance, it appears that all mod files located in 'mods' folder were deleted in conjunction with the install.

Base path = drive:\folder\Vortex

Install path = {base}\mods (i.e. directly underneath installed Vortex folder location)

I just did the patch up to 13.3, using the same file structure mentioned above, and experienced the same issue. All files held within the 'E:\\Vortex\Mods' folder have been deleted.

 

I'd kind of like to know if this is actually intentional, or some error with my and @@digitaljc's setups.

 

So far this has been my only major issue with Vortex, so I'm very much looking forward to when it goes gold.

This has already been discussed by Tannin in his stickied post over in the feedback forum here. In short, DO NOT install your mods to Vortex's installation directory, as it's deleted every update. I figured this would've been obvious, but for some reason people have been changing the defaults. Future versions of Vortex from 0.13.5 on will prevent you from doing this.

Somehow managed to totally read past the stickies when looking for a solution to this, thanks for raising my awareness about that.
