Enemy grenade spam and accuracy

On this run-through (my first) on Survival Mode I have thus far found only one area to be massively out of balance: in the middle of a fight enemies can throw grenades from 30 feet out at lightening speed, with the accuracy of a baseball player; and there is usually no time to react. These events are insta-kill for me (I'm level 11) and don't really add challenge or fun to the game.

 

Question: is there a small mod that adjusts a variable so that this is less frequently an issue ? E.g. enemy grenades inflict half the damage, or accuracy is a little worse etc.
