Macrophobic
For some reason, I can't edit texture paths. Instead, I only have an option to "choose" a file from my hard drive, then it shows the direct location of the texture. How can I disable this option and change the path to relative, like "Textures\MyCustomTextures\newtexture.dds"? I'm probably not the first person asking this question, but the search engine here is useless. http://oi64.tinypic.com/1ywu89.jpg

EPDGaffney
I do it this way:https://prnt.sc/iidceo Never even knew it was possible for it to use the entire directory location as opposed to the relative one. Is that still true about the BSA archives not being able to read the files if you put / instead of \ in them? Fortunately, NifSkope seems to handle this on its own at least in version 2.0.0 Pre-Alpha 6. I haven't needed to use the older versions for anything yet, though I have heard they're better for this, as my version is a pre-alpha and the latest updates are 64-bit (which will probably not cause any problems but there's always a chance). uhmattbravo
You should be able to directly edit the filepath by double clicking it or whatever. I do it all the time.
dubiousintent
Windows standard for pathing is/was "\". Not sure when they allowed either (if they did), but not back in the days of "Windows Explorer" for Vista or Win7 (just tested that), so I would not expect BSAs to recognize such a path. But haven't actually tested it in a BSA myself. -Dubious-
EPDGaffney
God, you're right. I was thinking of Linux paths and internet addresses. In that case, it makes perfect sense that NifSkope would put down the address correctly when you click a file in Windows. But you'd want to be careful in Linux in that case I suppose.
