GameDaysPassed incrementing too slow/fast, out of sync

This is more a question than a technical report, but I've noticed that New Vegas has a bug (which was also present in Fallout 3 and possibly Oblivion) where the decimal component of GameDaysPassed starts to get out of sync with GameHour. In this case, the decimal part of GameDaysPassed either starts incrementing too fast, or too slow.

Now since this seems to be the value that New Vegas uses for determining the progression of the hardcore meters, as well as determining when the day changes from one to the next, it can cause a few bugs. Obviously I could keep on going into the console periodically and taking GameHour, dividing it by 24, and using that value to correct the decimal component of GameDaysPassed, but that's a bit tedious. I was wondering, are there any mods that address this issue? I've read that FWE for Fallout 3, and the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, had scripts that did something like this. Was curious whether anyone had done something similar for New Vegas.

Edit: Okay so I did a bit more testing and found that a high GameDaysPassed value is what is causing this bug, or is at least partially responsible. Changed my GameDaysPassed from 77 to 10, and it started incrementing correctly. Are there any quests in New Vegas that are dependant on this value? Because I could see messing around with it causing problems.
