Hello!

My vanilla Fallout 4 crashes to desktop instantly after i press any button during the [Press any button to start...], intro cinematic works fine.

Fallout 4 + Wasteland/Contraptions/Vault-Tec Workshop + Far Harbor (Steam)

What i've tried, nothing worked:

-borderless window mode

-deleting all saves/inis

-verifying integrity on steam

-reinstalling Fallout 4

-loading in on minimum details and then ultra details

-updating my gpu drivers

-disabling and enabling FO4 in firewall

-launching as administrator

-resetting all overclocks

-reinstalling Fallout 4 (again)

My config:

FX8300 stock

Gigabyte HD7970 Super OC stock clocks: Driver version 18.2.1 Crimson

8GB 1866MHz DDR3

6x250GB RAID0 steam drive

120GB SSD Windows10 drive

Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 MOBO

It seems like it crashes after DX11 mode turns on, which is weird, because furmark/heaven/3dmark are fine, and so are other games. I have no clue why it's crashing, help pls :S

My first suggestion would be grab the Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) and the Unofficial Fallout 4 patch. While you're at it grab the Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE, a lot of mods use that). There are instructions for installing the patch and you may want to look into some files that will allow you to get achievements even with mods installed. There are a few files you'll need to make slight edits to, but nothing too hard or complicated (finding the right fallout4custom.ini is the main thing for mods, but the unofficial patch just gets added into you game directly, instructions are on the site. Follow these and you should be fine).

I know when I initially ran the game I couldn't move around (a common bug), but once I had those edits in and a few files added from the unofficial patch, that seemed to help.

Also, if you are going to use mods I would highly recommend that if there is a Nexus version vs the mod menu in Fallout 4, use Nexus. Creation Club is ok to grab, but I myself have had issues when updating mods just because of the two sources (Nexus vs Bethesda.net in game).

Hopefully, this advice helps and others will probably agree on putting in the Unofficial Patch.
