seeing all the mods 4-5 times is annoying or?

I'd like to ask if anyone else finds it really annoying to have french/czech/german/italien etc. translations of mods spammed across the nexus? I don't dare to think that they shouldn't be made or uploaded onto the nexus...but seriously...can't one make a single mod post called "French mod Translations" and upload all the translated files into that thread? It would make it easier for the interested parties to find the mods anyways right? I'm not trying to insult anyone or be an ass, its just that I think a more efficient approach might be necessary here. I mean it is really starting to get annoying when I look at the recent uploads and get spammed with the same files over and over in different languages.

Files do not need translations. For those who really want them there are plenty of tools that can translate the entire site to their preferred languages. & if someone ever asked to translate my file for me, the only way I'd let them reupload it is if they went over and re-voiced the mod to their language. Otherwise, if they just did the description... I consider it a waste of space, and they could simply have placed their translated copy into a readme or maybe even as a spoiler in my own mod's description with proper credit.

Since Nexus let us translate mods, this is not spam! I upload 2 mods on nexus and I am french, both are in english, but why not a french and russia version? You guys racist? Ok, I agree for a fact, a different approach regarding translations could be more nice and less annoying, but common spamming?!

I know English is not your native language, but I assure you that racist is not the word for this. I for one do consider this spam.

To be honest here is the format I would use...

English

normal description.

Spanish

other translation

German

other translation

Or I'd make a good readme. The reason why I consider this spam is because it is unnecessary, you are producing the same product. Especially if you don't bother changing in game names and etc. For example, if you named a sword "Swordy" and someone wanted to translate your mod. It's still named "Swordy" and the only thing you did was a simple translation of the description and re-uploaded it without editing anything in the CK. I consider that a waste of space. But if you actually changed the file itself to custom fit your language, then it deserves its own space. Too many people translate the description and re-upload it somewhere getting credit I don't believe they deserve. There are tools, as I mentioned, that translate pages to your preferred language. Google Chrome web browser does this automatically.

I agree. Something needs to be done about this. This is, after all an english speaking site. I have actually seen people called out buy mods for speaking in foreign languages.

Korodic has the truth of it. Include the other translations as spoilers.

They aren't changing the mod itself, hell, even the title of the foreign language mod is in english "amazing crazy mod # 37, Spanish translation"

If its just SO important that these mods have to be translated and re uploaded in another language for the people who can't read english, you would at least think that they would have the title in the new language.

I have to sort through enough rehashed "Adult" mods when I get on the nexus anyhow. I would rather not have to sort through 5+ of the same mod every time I get on.

Well the site isn't exactly english speaking. The forums are since moderators would have a hard time otherwise. So the mod sites allow people to post up mods in other languages, but I still have my opinion as stated above.

and ty, very rarely will I get a compliment on my logic lmao

I agree Korodic, but for me this post is like crying about porn mod, a never end story. Why translators created new files? I don't know, Why not a optional file? I don't know. I m just saying, somebody already complain about it.

The best option is an optional file, I agree here, there is no excuse, but calling things you don't like spam.... ( Sorry for the person who created a new file in russia for my mod, but I agree, it is annoying, but I don't call it spam!)

Files do indeed need to be translated. You can't just grab a German file and play it on English Skyrim and expect things to work. And it is not just that you can't understand the audio and can't read the text, you can get things like missing textures on custom items, and broken unplayable quests.

I think it is great that people translate mods. I applaud the efforts of the hardworking mod translators who upload additional language versions to TES Nexus. Uploading mod translations is not spam and anyone who says that mods that aren't in English are spam could likely be defined as something like a bigot, racist, or enthnocentric person. How would you like it if the Hungarians, for example, were to make a concerted effort to get all English mods banned from TES Nexus and have it be a site for Hungarian mods only?

It would be a possibility that the site could be changed so that languages are divided up so that you could specify the language of mods you were interested in and would only be shown those.

Kinda missed the point there. Or, at least the point that I am making anyhow.

I think its great that people translate the mods. I really do. I speak multiple languages, and I still like the fact that people make an effort to put mods in different languages. It's very nice of them. I hope it is clear now that I could likely not be defined as something like a bigot, racist or "enthnocentric" I have never understood why people think it is OK to throw around claims like this. It is just as offensive as the racism and such that you "could likely" accuse us of. It is offensive, and you have no right to say these things about someone that you do not know.

How would I like it if magyars decided to push for an Hungarian only TES Nexus? I wouldn't care much for that at all. In that case, I would say it is a good thing that neither I nor, from what I understand anybody else, are suggesting that and mods of any language be banned from TES Nexus.

We are simply saying that there is not a need for people upload every language option as a new file. Since, from what I have seen, even the titles of these translated mods are in English, it defeats the point. People who are looking for translations of mods into their preferred language still have to use a translation tool, or know enough English to read the title "Random mod, Russian translation". Instead of this, each mod could just include inside that mods own page, an optional file for other languages.

In short. I am not racist. This isn't about race, language, or bigotry. This is about organization.

English is not my first, or most fluent language, but I still would prefer to not see 5 versions of each mod clogging TES Nexus. When I would like to find a mod in my native language, it is just that much harder, because I have to look it up, instead of click on an optional file inside the mod I am already reading about.

So take your accusations Elsweyr, maybe the Kajhiit will listen to them :P

I think it would be more efficient for the original mod file page to have downloads for English version, French, Spanish, German, etc etc. Everything on the same mod page..... For example here is an example of the downloads section of the page -

Your mod - English V1.0

(download button)

Your mod - Spanish V1.0

(download button)

Your mod - French V1.0

(download button)

Etc and on down

This way people can search for "your mod" and be taken to its page where they have the option to download the language version they want

I think that's all the OP was meaning, we need a more efficient way to organize the different language translations.....
