Fun times messing with player dialogue in CK

Well it happens when the topic info has both a local response AND a shared response set. Finding which ones are the culprits is tricky. The only solution I found for that is to go through your plugin with xEdit and look at each topic info 1 by 1.

Oh! Thank you for that information, I am pleased to have it.

I do not know exactly why it causes conflicts, though. Would the shared responses not just link back to the same line, regardless of its content? I mean, obviously not, but I do not understand why editing a Prompt has changed this.

I opened the .esp up in SSEedit but I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. It doesn't seem to detect conflicts, and you said I need to check through them manually anyway to be able to find the culprits. But nothing jumps out at me that looks wrong. Like is a problem showed on this screen? I cannot tell.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got done moving house, so I can get back into this junk again.

Still having trouble figuring out how to fix the problems outlined in the previous 2 posts. Is it simply that I CAN'T actually change any prompts that have multiple responses, if I don't want these errors happening? Or is there a way to do it and fix the errors that I'm just not seeing?

I'm trying to figure this out on my own, but I honestly have difficulty wrapping my head around this kind of thing easily, and tend to miss things that might be obvious to someone else. Would appreciate any help.

Thank you.
