stebbinsd
So I recently reinstalled the game. Whenever I run the game with OBSE, I get an invisible overworld and semi-transparent interior graphics! Here's what it looks like in the Chorrol Fighters Guild Hall:https://s10.postimg.org/es0ep8g55/image.png Here's what it looks like inside my inventory screen: https://s10.postimg.org/kg6pg57mx/image.png And here's what it looks like if I step outside the Guild Hall and into Chorrol proper: https://s10.postimg.org/xkc9su7eh/image.png If I forego OBSE and just load Oblivion through its launcher, the graphics render just fine. Even if I don't have any OBSE-required mods enabled, just launching from OBSE itself will cause this problem. Reinstalling OBSE doesn't appear to fix the problem. Any suggestions? DrakeTheDragon
Which OBSE Plugins, i.e. DLLs inside "data/obse/plugins" do you have? Do the objects constantly stay at the same opacity, or do they fade in and out depending on your distance? Could it be some bogus object/landscape/actor/whatever fade settings? I don't see Oblivion Reloaded, but Oblivion Graphics Extender (OBGE) (an OBSE plugin, not a mod) or certain ENB are coming into mind.
stebbinsd
Which OBSE Plugins, i.e. DLLs inside "data/obse/plugins" do you have?Dunno. I just download whatever mods I like since I know I'll have OBSE if I need it. Do the objects constantly stay at the same opacity, or do they fade in and out depending on your distance? They more-less appear at the same opacity Could it be some bogus object/landscape/actor/whatever fade settings?Huh? I have no idea what you just said. But in any case, how do I fix it? DrakeTheDragon
The "fade" settings in your in-game graphics options determine at which distance from you objects like trees, actors, statics, etc. will start to "fade" out, i.e. start becoming translucent, and at which max. distance they'll be completely gone.If some of those sliders/settings (they can be defined both, inside the game as well as the Oblivion.ini, while inside the INI possibly every numeric value will go, unlike in the sliders inside the game) are set too low, you'll only see things inside a very short viewing range, they'll start becoming translucent in only a few meters from you and/or will completely disappear only a short distance farther away. Can't you just open your "Oblivion/data/" folder, where all mods and such are installed into, in for example the WIndows Explorer, then browse down further into "obse/plugins" and see what ".dll" files, or what files in general, are inside there? The OBSE plugins can usually very easily be deduced from the DLL file names, so that'd be no trouble here. But if you have any of those OBSE plugins which alter/control/override the visuals of your game and we don't know, one of them could very well be the culprit here and nobody would ever guess. For example, lots of people in the past were complaining about their main menu on the title screen having disappeared, they didn't have any "start game", "options", "load game" etc. to click on, and blamed OBSE for it, as it immediately returned to normal when the game was run without it, but the true cause always was them using OBGE (an OBSE plugin, which of course also won't run when OBSE isn't run) together with Anti Aliasing turned on inside the launcher. Turned out you had to disable AA inside the launcher and "force" it through your graphics card drivers, or just get rid of OBGE instead and/or use something else. But the important thing is, OBGE won't be seen in your load order, as it's an OBSE plugin, just a DLL inside "data/obse/plugins/". Thus in cases where it's relevant we also have to ask for a list of those.
stebbinsd
Ok, so ... how do I fix this? You went into a lot of detail telling me about the problem, which I could care less about! Tell me about the SOLUTION!!!

DrakeTheDragon
Is that a bug on posting or is it really "empty"? The trouble is, we haven't yet diagnosed the actual problem, so I can't give you a solution already. I was just explaining my previous questions, why I was asking for these things and/or where from/how to obtain them. Ah, disregard the first line, the picture finished loading now while I was still writing, and while it shows as a "missing picture" error in my browser, I was able to open it in a new tab and could see the contents. So there is "OBGEv2.dll", which means v2 of the Oblivion Graphics Extender. There we have something to further look into, if it could already be the problem. This is 1) a rather ancient version of the OBGE, and 2) there's several potential issues known in relation to it. Do you know where it's coming from, i.e. which mod you installed where it was inside? Nothing of your load order looks like it has anything to do with it, and we're still missing the list of actual "mods" you installed, not just the resulting plugins, as not every mod even has a plugin. You could as the first next step try and rename the file "OBGEv2.dll" into "OBGEv2.bak", or whatever, so it won't be used anymore the next time you run your game with OBSE, and see if it helps.
