[LE] Textures not showing up in CK

I'm trying to create a daedroth in the Special Edition using the daedroth mesh from Vicn's creature pack. I placed the daedroth mesh in the meshes section of the Data folder, and while everything looks fine in NifSkope, when I try to create the creature in the CK, the textures don't show up at all, making the creature effectively invisible.

 

After examining the NIF in NifSkope, I noticed that it's using vanilla textures (for example, the main skin texture is the Falmer skin texture), so I'm a bit confused as to why the CK can't seem to find the textures. The texture paths in NifSkope look like this:

 

 

textures\actors\falmer\FalmerM.dds

 

 

However, I noticed that, with the Special Edition, the vanilla textures appear to be spread across multiple BSAs (e.g., Skyrim - Textures0.bsa), so I wonder if that isn't the cause of the problem. (For what it's worth, I *am* using the Special Edition version of Vicn's creature pack.)

 

Am I correct about the cause of the problem? If so, how do I fix it? Please note that I'm a newbie when it comes to textures (and modding in general), so I don't have a lot of background knowledge. :smile:

Have you added all the relevant bsa's to the "ResourceArchiveList2" in creationkit.ini - it should look something like this:

 

SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices_en0.bsa, Skyrim - Textures0.bsa, Skyrim - Textures1.bsa, Skyrim - Textures2.bsa, Skyrim - Textures3.bsa, Skyrim - Textures4.bsa, Skyrim - Textures5.bsa, Skyrim - Textures6.bsa, Skyrim - Textures7.bsa, Skyrim - Textures8.bsa, Skyrim - Patch.bsa

 

BTW: There is a nexus forum for SSE, generally best to ask your SSE CK questions there.

Sometimes the CK is incapable of finding textures from inside BSAs. It should work fine in-game if this is the issue. If you want to see the textures in the CK, try extracting the textures in question from the BSA to your data folder.

 

I went ahead and loaded the daedroth into the game, but the textures still didn't display. The creature was rendered as a red triangle with an exclamation point.

Yeah, all of those BSAs have been added to the creationkit.ini. The Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfires BSAs are in there, too.

There are no Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfires BSAs in SSE all the stuff is in Skyrim.....bsa's

 

Ahh, okay. I probably added those references when I was editing the creationkit.ini to enable multiple masters. Good to know that they can be removed. Thanks!
