RaktoastTheSandwichTopper
so ya ive been thinking i would love a mod that split the armour up into different slots like each shoulder has it's own slot plus a torso, left leg, right leg, and then seperate the arms to new slots and the same with the boots, and the head so like i could have a daedric right shoulder pad, a banded iron left shoulder pad, a hide cuirass, a daedric left pant leg and an elven right pant leg do you know what i mean? think roman gladiator type thing
m920cain
that would be completely epic and NEEDS to be done
AjaxSt
Problem is there are only so many slots available to use in Skyrim, and there won't nearly be enough to make a mod like this actually work. At most, I think you'be be able to get separate pants, but even that would be a lot of work given the art direction Bethesda took when making the armors. Pirogerth
Taking every armor and breaking it into two parts would just be a giant pain in the ass. First of all, you'd have to worry about seams. Second, it would more than likely only replace vanilla armor, unless someone wants to take the time to do it with body specific replacers. Third, it would take at least 3-4 weeks to break everything apart. Not meaning to bring you down, but this is extremely difficult to do, and i highly doubt seeing it anytime soon. RaktoastTheSandwichTopper
ya after posting it i realized "oh s*** that would be a lot of work" but ya if someone(s) do(es) find the time they would be my absolute hero
SpeedyWildman
Theres a similar mod for the fallout games called tailor made, i have no idea how easily the concept could be applied but its do ablehttp://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=36660
LennoxNoxius
I think the reason this was avoided in the first place was so that there could be more NPCs in one cell at a time, being that there's less variety of armours and clothing being loaded along with each one. I remember reading something like that somewhere, could be wrong but it sounds legit.
RaktoastTheSandwichTopper
tbh all i really want is separated legs from the torso, and separated shoulder pads
nivea
The reason it was avoided is because it is a lot of hard work, not to mention all the clipping that would happen. Clipping was ok in Morrowind at the time it was made, but now it would simply look unprofessional and poorly done.Tailor Maid does not break down all the armors, it just breaks down some for more interesting looks. Which could work in Skyrim, its just a lot of hard work.
AjaxSt
But Skyrim still has a LOT of clipping errors, especially with clothing, that you'd think would be fixed. It has worse clipping than even Oblivion did. Shields constantly go through my legs, when I'm running, my pants go through my shirt, half the time my pants go through my boots, too. You can't really say that they did it to avoid clipping, when clipping is worse than Oblivion. At least in Oblivion the clipping was simply a problem with you pants showing through your belt line on the front of your shirt, mostly.
