crash on exit

Skyrim crashes on exit/exiting to main menu/loading a save, without warning. The game looks fine, crashes only occur on those moments. I can load anygame but when I try to load another character's (from in-game) it crashes. However I can quickload just fine!

I have no problem without mods, but I am certain it started since the latest official patch. After hours upon hours of testing I found update.esm to be the culprit. I redownloaded it but the problem persists.

Most likely Bethesda screwed something with the latest patch for all update.esm dependant mods, is there a workaround?

I have the same issue lately and I always thought it was too many mods conflicting or something. Thanks for sharing your findings in regards to update.esm!

Problem seems to have been fixed with latest patch. Thank you Beth! No thanks to modders though, I contacted every single one of them about this bug and none cared.
