BlaCkBlitZ
Currently, I have a modded skyrim playing, and halfway through the game I enter Riverwood Trader, half the ground became purple-ish and the clothes on the merchant was black, so was the counter.... I was playing just fine, no lag, no sharp FPS drops or CTDs, maybe a few occasional stutters that eveeryone gets in Beth games then this happens. Usually when this happens it means a CTD is going to happen in the near future. Is there anyway to stop this?
Njorunn
Hi! Was the texture purple like this? http://cdn.overclock.net/1/19/193e4082_purpletrees.png If yes, it means some textures are missing for those particular meshes! Not sure about the black texture though!.. Your best bet is to take notice of what textures are purple and check up the mods you have that replace those textures - double-check if the new textures really are in their correct folders! BlaCkBlitZ
Yes the purple textures are like that, but the odd thing is, a simple restart of skyrim usually solves it. The black textures happen similarly as the purprle textures, but I've noticed they often occur on Armor, Clothes, furniture or weapons.
AurianaValoria1
I noticed that going on when the game was at the 2GB RAM cap. The textures started glitching when the RAM usage got closer to the cap. Like you said, a simple restart would fix it.
BlaCkBlitZ
I'm just worried it might corrupt a save or something... I'm already extremely cautious of CTDs...
Shantih
It would seem that it's simply a memory question (not enough of) which is why restarting the game solves the problem and not a problem of missing textures (although it may look like it). Unless you are upgrading your system I'm afraid there isn't much you can do except restarting the game once in a while when it starts becoming messed up.
