Salvage Caravans

Hi there,

 

today i got tired of scrapping and salvaging stuff and stumbled over the "Salvage Beacon"-Mod. Cool thing, but still i have to loot things and put it in a box or something like that.

So i had these idea of a "Salvage Caravan". I don't know, if it's possible to realize, but this is how i imagine it.

 

1. You need Brahmin feed troughs for Brahmins.

2. Assign Brahmins to a Caravan via - i don't know - some kind of terminal or something

3. Assign Settlers (1 up to maybe 8) as guards, equip them with weapons and armor.

 

Now it's getting tricky

 

4. Whenever you've cleaned an raider or super mutant hide-out, you throw some signaling grenade, like the artillery smoke grenades.

5. The caravan starts moving in ingame real time and - on arrival - starts collecting salvage and loot form dead bodies, trunks, stashes and buildings. When the Caravan is attacked, the guards try to defend it.

6. Caravan returns to home base and stashes loot in the workbench.

 

Is it possible to realize this idea?

It is all possible if the player stays in the target area to keep references loaded. Soon as the player moves more than uGridsToLoad + a bit (or maybe one of the fLODFade.. settings) from the area, references unload and nothing will happen between npcs and objects whilst unloaded (think of it as the player isn't "looking").
