del1diablo
I got another way to do this: Run windows in clean mod(was a guide on the Ubi forums), turn of all programs that can consume memory.I found instructions how to do it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 Then do this:1. hit "Run" and enter "regedit" then find Oblivion's files, and make sure they are correct2. after comfirming that the path of installation is correct, get the 2.0 patch.3. Run and leave your computer4. Pray5. For me it worked for some odd reason. I guess the patcher is bugged, it will want a certain amout of free memory to be able to run succesfully.6. go to msconfig and check back the applications and stuff that is needed7. restart and play
bben46
Please, do not try using regedit unless you know what you are doing. A mistake there could kill your Windows completely and make your computer unable to boot. If you want to try this, be sure you have a real windows CD - NOT a windows restore disk. So you will be able to reinstall windows. Maybe you will be able to salvage something. If you do think you know how to use regedit, please make a backup of the regedit file first. Then you will be able to restore the original in case of a disaster. A restore disk restores it all right - to the condition it was in when it left the factory. ALL of your programs and everything you have ever put on the computer will be wiped out, and any trash programs that originally came installed (AOL, a temporary copy of a antivirus - now expired etc.)
