Deleted16784829User
Working on a custom player home and created a spa. It has benches. I updated the NIF file with furniture markers and positioned them. I looked at a noble chair to make sure I used the right settings and positioned it correctly. Everything appears identical but the character is ABOVE the bench! The collision mesh for the tub is exactly the same as the viewable mesh. Any ideas? Deleted16784829User
i made a latrine, it looks good in nifskope and in creation kit, but in game, the character is like sitting on the floor, going right through the mesh. pretty much the opposite of the spa bench. Deleted16784829User
ok so the issue was, that the mesh is above 0 or below 0 on the z-axis. In the parent node there is Translation, which allows you to adjust the position of the meshes. I tried that and it didn't work. What I didn't realize, is that you have to apply the translation, so it resets and makes the new current position 0. You can right click parent node in NifSkope, select Transform > Edit. Update the Z value so the bottom of the object is level with the grid. Click Accept. Right click parent node, Transform > Apply and then Save nif.
