mobius212
Alright, I started downloading mods just this week, and it's been an exciting, albeit frustrating experience so far. Anyways, to my point. I'm using Oblivion Mod Manager for my mods, and it's only working for one of the three mods I've downloaded. It's worked for Exnem's eye candy mod, but when I downloaded this mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14451 (It's a combo Ren's beauty pack/Soya Hair mod) It didn't work. I activated it within OMM (all the mods are checked), and it's in my Oblivion data file, but when I Open oblivion, nothing has changed (I can't make a mystic elf, etc.) Also, for the actors in charge mod, it says to install, to copy it into the Oblivion/data directory, but I can't find that directory. Anyone know where I can find it? Thanks in advance.
HouseAtlantic
I've never used an OMOD (the obmm install) so I know exactly how frustrating it can be o_O you may have to manually add these hair mods to your race, using the Construction Set, but these mods should work for normal races. Your directory for Oblivion is where you installed it on your computer, open that folder, probably in C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion and last but not least you should see a folder that says Data, that's where your plug-ins and everything go. Don't go putting the textures in the meshes folder, or anything ;) It's simple but hard to keep track of what meshes/textures correspond to a single esp, though. all esp files go into your Data folder, just drop them in there

This is what it looks like: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/Mob...pg?t=1214682300 Is it supposed to be like that? 'Cause the mods still aren't working. HouseAtlantic
oh how i miss windows xp, yes that's the right folder. The Mystic Elves are a player made race and they have their own hair, so using this mod on a custom race may not be an option for you right now, but you're saying the Mystic Elves race isn't working? Strange because i can't figure out how to get rid of them :whoops: you downloaded the race from Ren's hair mod right? that's how i got them
mobius212
Yea, I got the race from that mod (the combo Ren's beauty pack/hair mod to be precise).
DirTek
Hmm..I see you already have Custom race fix. You should try this: Unistall the mod with OBMM Download the Manual Version Install that version (instructions here) Try again...remember this. When you want to uninstall a mod you installed manually...check the file you downloaded (the archive) for the files that there are in the archive and delete them from Data folder (don't delete folders untill you learned the whole deal with manual install/uninstall or you may delete all your mods.) Hope this helps Cheers  Maafiaman
HouseAtlantic
You know that both the mods Mystic Elves and this hair mod you linked are only accessible through the character gen, at the beginning of the game and by entering the console and typing ShowRaceMenu. Neither of these mods show up in that menu? The custom race fix esp is important, uncheck that from your mod list once you've exited the sewer, but I would download Ren's hair and Corean hair from the original author long before I'd get it from some guy and his merged esp. Ren included his hair on the elf race, so the only thing you're adding is sonya's hair
