Denerim Port? - Master of the Seas (Quest)

So I have been playing Dragon Age for many years now and still love it, even made a few mods, but I'm still at a loss as to the purpose of the Denerim Port.

Supposedly, you can buy a boat and travel to distant shores in search of adventure, but that has never happened after several game plays. If you visit the Denerim Shipwright and speak with Gerard he offers to build a small boat, a bigger fishing boat or even a larger vessel with supporting crew for 500, 3000 and 5000 gold respectively. I get an updated quest called Master of the Seas, but I can't actually purchase a boat or advance the quest.

The Master of the Seas quest also mentions speaking to captain Caria by the docks to prep the ship, but she only says shes too busy. So again, not sure what the point of Denerim Port is or why it is not mentioned anywhere.

It is also interesting that I can't find any info online about Denerim Port at all! Dragon Age Wiki lists every location on the map including everywhere in Denerim, but no mention of Denerim Port. Nothing on Nexus and none of the walkthroughs mention it either. I find that very strange as it is part of the original game.

Anybody have any ideas on this?

Oooh, this is an easy one!

There is no vanilla 'Master of the Seas' quest, and no map/area called 'Denerim Port'. There also are no vanilla NPCs named 'Caria' or 'Gerard'.

So there's no information on the wiki because it's not from the vanilla game.

(My wildest guess is that you've installed the Quest and Legends mod... IIRC, that has a Denerim port area.)

Ok, I can accept that. :)

I've always installed the Quest and Legends mod for more depth. Although I am aware of many areas and locations that are tied to that mod, I never realized Denerim Port was part of it as well.

Thank you, that will save me from searching.

Now only if Q&L had more documentation about the mod. <sigh>

Thanx again!
