And you still haven't mentioned what version of Skyrim you are running or what mods?. Particularly after the CK was released (and the 1.4 update before that) MANY mods became incompatible with the game ...

Try this:

Open your Steam Library -> RIGHT click on Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim -> LEFT Click on "Properties" -> LEFT click on the "Local Files" tab -> LEFT click on the "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE" button ...

This will force Steam to check all of the important game files, and any corrupted and/missing files will be re-downloaded/replaced, PLUS it will also update Skyrim to the latest version.

  • 2 months later...

Someone else had the same problem some time ago.

Will just copy paste what I said there.

When it crashes that early, it's usually because a mod is missing some dependencies.

This is usually a certain master file (.ESM file).

If You check the plugins in NMM or with the launcher itself it usually shows wich masters it depends on, by clicking on a certain plugin.

Like

Skyrim.esm

update.esm

<insert mod>.esm

check all plugins to see if any master files are missing.

I don't think it's a mod conflict cause those usually only show when loading or starting a new game.
