How do I re-position a helmet?

Hi, this is my first post for modding help as I was not able to find any information to help me through google.

My goal is to re-position a helmet model on my custom raced character, but I have no idea where to start.

Here are some screens of how it's currently positioned on my character:

I want to raise the helmet above the eye level and have it's position to where a vanilla circlet would be, as well as have it hug my character's forehead a little closer if possible.

Are there any modding resources that will tutor me in how to obtain this goal? Can anyone help me with their knowledge on this subject?

Thank you for viewing and listening to my issue.

Maybe you can do it through the nif file, I know I've moved things into better positions before but it was a long time ago, hmmm, let me think...............................................................(sips coffee).........................OK, I think you can open the nif file of the helm, expand the info, then highlight the NiTriShape and look at bottom in "block details" and in Translation and Rotation you can move it, oh and when your done don't forget to right click NiTriShape ....transform...apply then save. This off course is all amusing you have nifskope
