Mod Trouble

Recommended Posts

So yesterday I downloaded a whole handful of mods. Now me being the cautions type I run one or two mods at a time and wait and see what it does so if the game explodes I know it was THAT mod. Out of those mods I found a few that made my game crash immediately or cause some problems.

Blackluster armor - every time I pass the shield in the Imperial City my game lags hardcore until I get a good distance away from it. The closer I get to it the more the game lags for a longer amount of time, I couldn't even pick it up. Has anyone else had these problems or why it's doing this.

Fighter's Guild Contracts and any other mod by that guy like Origin of the mages Guild, The Elder Council and the Necromancers. They all seem like great mods and from looking at this persons site he does good work and I'd like for these mods to work but they make my game crash immediately.

Does anyone know why?

I am no expert, but from what I have been reading here, in the fourms, your prob is most likely caused by your load order. I suggest you do a search in the fourms for "Load Order" and you may find the answer to your issues. And I will let you in on this... the only way anyone here can help you is with a post that has your load order... it is crazy how just moving some mods around can change your gaming. Good luck

I agree with Roxdad, it could be the load order.

If you don't find anything through a search on the forums, the best thing may be to list all the mods you are using and the order they load. You may also wish to include if you are using OBSE and your version of oblivion (has it been updated with the 1.2 patch?) You may also wish to check in Giskard's readme files for any mention of where it is best to load mods like Origin of the Mages Guild, etc. It may be, that a certain mod of his may need to be loaded last.

I don't experience the lags in the market district with the Blackluster mod. The meshes appear to be quite detailed though and perhaps this in addition to the number of NPCs in the district may be causing the lag if you are on a lower end computer. Try entering the district at night when there are less NPCs around and take the Shields and stuff then.

PM me if you have any questions about the above, I only go to the forums once in a while.
