Denizar
I had deleted all the folders that oblivion created and also some other stuff from the registry but I didn't try uninstalling from the cd. I'll try that today. Thanks nosisab. By the way, the faces of actors look really bad - not the textures but something about lighting I guess, like the shadow isn't smooth. I can't show a screenshot because for some reason my printscreen key isn't recognized by my oblivion although I enabled it from the ini. I'll get fraps or something and post it here as soon as possible.

Denizar
It is at 2 at the moment, I do not get mouse lags that much, just steady fps rate at 10-20 in anvil bay and similar places. In my reinstall I installed AEVWD, Enhanced wheather and no change in fps so I guess those do not hurt that much. I'm gonna install FCOM now and see the change. Do omega drivers really make a change? Edit: I installed the omega drivers. No significant change. I can't play the game smoothly at all - only in wilderness with minimum objects and actors - and small interiors. Otherwise fps 10-20 and I do get mouse lags. I'm now going to reinstall my OS. I have SP3 XP installed I'll try to install a SP2 from scratch. Hope that helps. billypnats
try doing a harddrive defrag and do a clean boot and run oblivion to see if that helps. there might be background processes lagging you?
Denizar
I did a defragment but not much improved (The game runs smoother though thanks). Can it be that I am not using ANY omods. I don't know anything about omods but do they improve performance? Thanks. By the way, I just installed QTP3 redimized, with better tiling textures, koldorns noise, improved trees, flora, doors, signs blah blah just to see the difference in fps. I have to say that the fps drop was very minimal. I'm now installing FCOM to see what that does. And after that I'll reinstall the OS.
Denizar
Installing FCOM didn't make a drop either, so I re-installed my OS. First I tried Vista 64 bit, but it didn't satisfy me after xp so I installed sp2, and installed Oblivion without any mods. FPS at anvil bay when facing towards the chapel: 15-20 average 19 max 25 around anvil bay. As soon as I walk out of anvil bay towards the lighthouse, fps at 60s. I have no idea whats going on... This fps drop happens at many other places. I guess I'll just try to OC now (I still couldn't figure out how to OC my card though  )
billypnats
theres absolutely no need for OC Oblivion is incompatible with 64bit OS omods don't do anything really. Do you get performance drops in waterfront as well?
