WinRAR is a file compression system. Just open it up, and unpack the files into any folder.

I tried that before. When I click on that winrar file, it doesn't show me its contents. It always says it's unable to open.

I had downloaded an ESP, accidentley clicked (always open as winrar) and now all my esps are winrar files. How do I change this back?

If I understood you correctly, but I think that has to do with what file association you have for an ESP and it seems to me that you have "mod name.rar" instead of "mod name.esp". Correct?

Of course, you can manually change that in Windows, but I wouldn't recommend doing that, because doing such a thing could make the ESP impossible to load it in the CS and the actual mod is damaged probably for good.

I think I might have misunderstood what you are asking.

Uninstall WinRAR, and see if that clear's it. Then reinstall it if it dose.

Even better would to check what kind of weirdness ones Antivirus have done and I speak of experience as I once use Avast, which after an update began to act too restrictive about what to accept and not accept.

One of those things were the file extension the mods I downloaded here on Nexus and what happen was that Avast had removed the .exe file extensions which made that mod tool pretty much useless to use.

If you need to open a rar file 7zip or izarch can help. As for converting to esp's from that, I have no idea, but a mod packaging tutorial should have the steps you need.
