Understone Keep CTD -- With 3 Different Mods

This is such a weird problem. I've recently come back to playing Skyrim after a 3-4 month break, and since in that time a ton of mods had come out, I now am playing with a lot more mods that I was before. I've experienced little to no problems with this, except for one. Every once and a while trying to enter Understone Keep -- and only Understone Keep -- will start causing the game to CTD. The weird part about this is that it has been caused by several different mods at several different times, and it never happens in any other place.

 

Case one:

 

Spouses Can Live Anywhere

The first time it happened. Fixed the problem by uninstalling the mod and reinstalling it, leaving me dumbfounded but pleased that I could continue playing and keep the mod.

 

Case two:

 

W.A.T.E.R

A mod I've had for ages and have had no problems with at all. I just installed the latest update and it started causing it to crash. Couldn't pinpoint why, but installing an older version fixed the problem. Well, all right.

 

Case three:

Complete Crafting Overhaul

 

THIS is the weirdest one. I had this mod installed before, with no problems. I uninstalled it to test out different crafting mods, and just reinstalled it now. Surprise: it's causing Understone Keep to crash again! It's the same version I had installed last time, in the same place in my load order, doing the same thing it's done all along with no issue. What the heck. I managed to fix the issue by, you guessed it, uninstalling and reinstalling it yet again.

 

So there you go, three different mods causing the same problem at different times for seemingly no reason. I'm virtually finished with Understone Keep at the moment, thankfully, but there are still a few quests I need to do and it's a pain in the arse installing new mods (or reinstalling old mods) just to have it randomly crash on me.

This happened yet again when I installed another new mod (Ambient Fog Removal). I don't even understand haha.

 

If anyone has any insight as to why this is happening, I would be much obliged.

For me, the following worked:

- Go into the Hall of the Dead.

- Go to the door to the keep.

- Type "coc markarthunderstonekeep".

You will be ported into the keep. Typing "coc markarthunderstonekeep" at other places also caused a CTD.

 

I also deactivated some housing mods after that, which also increased stability I think.

Well.. This fixed it. Somehow the spouses mod affects my ctd chances at Understone Keep. sigh
