Help, I broke the CK

I was testing a mod and had a CTD issue even on clean saves with no mods enabled, Validating FO4 didn't fix it. So I manually backed up my mods esps and deleted the Data folder. Revallidated/Installed FO4.

Yay game works fine CTD fixed, Oh crap, just realised I only backed up my esps not the scripts.... got some back with Recuva.

Reopen my mod in CK and can't create new scripts.

Removed all script references in the esp and then copied it asset by asset with FO4Edit to a new esp, same problem.

Created a new esp in CK, same problem.

Deleted Creationkit.exe and reinstalled, same problem.

I'm out of ideas now, help?

I screwed around with it more, reinstalled it and now its completely broken.

Tried to run as administarator and same result.

Tried reinstalling Direct X but it tells me the process can't be done because it needs to be elevated

Game still works fine.

Why does installing the Creation Kit have to be so damn complicated?

C

The errors from launching in the Bethesda launcher is because ck was not installed to the game folder. so all the files that come with the game are missing.

Hmm that's where it wanted to install but I'll try putting in game folder.

Thanks that seems to have fixed that problem, just waiting to see how it goes when it finishes unpacking scripts

I had CK installed in wrong place, it had to be in game folder.

Got a different error with the scripts but it told me a Source/F4SE folder was not found.

I added an empty folder and its all fixed by the looks working again.

Thanks to all
