Cqwertyuiop75
I just started today to try and make the transition from MO to Vortex and I'm running into tons of errors right off the bat and have no clue what any of this wants me to do.What am I doing wrong here? What are these three paths for? What even is a deployment method? Why can they not be deployed? Why is the fix button not fixing anything? What's the recommended path for these multiple paths? I just kind of made a Vortex Mod Manager file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Vortex Mod Manager since the default pathing was also giving me this huge error but, this obviously isn't working either. Is it just me or is Vortex significantly less user friendly than Mod Organizer and NMM? MO even had a tutorial on what things are. Vortex seems to just assume you know what everything means without a good enough explanation. My steam games library is on my 2 terabyte external, does this also need to be on my external since C is running incredibly low on space? I could most certainly use some guidance here. Olivir2019
First, installing into Program Files is not a good idea for modded games anyway. Secondly, installing mods into Vortex install folder is VERY bad idea. Download path is a path to folder, where dowloaded archives are stored. It can be on any partition/disk. Mods path is a path to folder, where all mods will be installed (ergo unpacked) and from there linked into the Data folder. To enable the deployment method (hyperlinks), this path MUST BE on the same partition where the game is installed. Then, fixing the errors should work. Also, clicking the "i" icon does help quite a bit... And there is no external documentation, as this is alpha.
