Elizinator
title says it all. my character has the eye-glowy effect from nighteye permanently. casting nighteye again doesnt change it. the nighteye effect itself comes and goes with each cast, but the eye glow lasts forever. cant seem to get rid of it. any ideas? :C

Tidus44
No one is likely answering because no one understands what the problem is. What do you mean by "eye-glowy effect" as you say the effect comes and goes with each cast - which sounds like its working normally. Are you khajiit, vampire or ? Is it a mod or from the game. How did it happen? What mods do you have - particularly any that effect eyes? The eye-glow effect I'm aware of is from the Aura Whisper Shout or Kyne's Peace for detect life/calm animals that can be fixed by changing male-female or vice versa by console a few times and is sometimes fixed by fast traveling. If you want help you need to clearly explain what it is that is the problem.
Elizinator
i think you have the problem well in hand. basically, it is the graphical effect applied to the eyes when casting certain "detection" spells im neither a khajit nor a vampire. as far as affecting eyes, i doubt thats the cause, because loading old games doesnt have the problem, nor do new characters. i believe it happened by trying to cast nighteye while ethereal, or something like that. =/ ill try changing things with the console. see if that works. EDIT: so i do setrace darkelf, and then setrace highelf. boom! it works! and then i notice that it came back. after some experimentation, i found out what brought it back. being in first-person mode does it =/ any ideas as to why? and what might be responsible? saving the game with no eye glowy doesnt help; it comes back when i load >_< further update: old saves do not acquire this problem, that i can see. it occurred for my character recently-ish - within the last two levels - but whatever is causing it i cant find. ive tried loading with half of my mods disabled, and it doesnt help. Elizinator
so im going to reiterate my problem, and hope for an answer. my character has a graphical effect on her face. it is two shiny patches just below her eyes. they appear to be a lingering spell effect, though i have no spells active. 'dispelall" in console does not fix it. removing all gear does not fix it. changing face or eyes with showracemenu doesnt fix it. changing race with "setrace" does fix it temporarily, but it returns as soon as i enter first person mode. older saves i load do not have this problem, nor do they gain it if i enter first person mode. disabling nearly all of my mods does not remove the problem. once it is fixed with setrace, any loaded game which had this problem ever will restore the problem. casting spells which produce this eye effect does not work. casting other graphical effects which ought to overwrite it does not work. disabling all face/eye/warpaint/hair mods doesnt work. disabling 90% of mods doesnt work, and besides, new games with the same mod list dont do it. i would very much like to not have to start a new game. if anyone knows what is causing this, and how to remedy it, please tell me. even the barest suggestion would be very much appreciated, as it might lead me to the right answer. Tidus44
You are describing exactly the Aura Whisper/Kyne's Peace Shout glitch. If you fast travel it may clear it. If you change your character's sex (not race) to the opposite sex (if a male change to female), then save, quit, restart and change the character's sex back to what the original character was and this may clear it. Try this a couple of times, not just once. If it is not present in an earlier save, you may be able to get rid of it by loading an earlier save without the glitch and avoid doing the shouts or casting the spell that causes the glitch. If these do not clear the effect, then I know of no other fix to clear the glitch.

EDIT: well, ive tried it ten times or so. it isnt working for me, so i guess this bug is never going away. thanks for trying to help me. this is really frustrating for me. not know the cause is in some sense better than knowing it and being unable to change it. thanks for at least trying to help me out >_< Edited April 17, 2012 by Elizinator
